The project “Health Through the Senses” was implemented at the Riga Social Care Center “Gaiļezers”, creating a sensory and cognitive stimulation room for seniors with dementia and cognitive impairments to improve social rehabilitation.
The Significance of the Project for Riga
With the growing number of seniors with dementia and other cognitive impairments, modern, individualized solutions focused on emotional well-being are needed. The project strengthens Riga’s social care system by integrating digital technologies and creating an innovative, future-oriented care model that improves the quality of life for clients.
Target of the Project
Improve work processes and delay the progression of dementia in RSCC “Gaiļezers” clients through the introduction of innovative equipment and artificial intelligence, while reducing the risk of dementia in other clients.

Project Activities
✓ Renovation and adaptation of premises for equipment installation;
✓ Market research and preparation of technical specifications;
✓ Organization of procurement and conclusion of a contract with the supplier;
✓ Installation of interactive systems (projectors, sensors, sound system, lighting, computer with licensed software);
✓ Training of employees in the use of the equipment.
