The project focuses on the development of environmentally friendly and sustainable urban logistics, with particular attention to last-mile delivery. It involves the testing and improvement of an electric cargo scooter as an alternative transport solution.
The Significance of the Project for Riga
The growing volume of e-commerce has increased the demand for logistics transport, contributing to higher traffic intensity, congestion, and pollution in cities. To ensure a more efficient and sustainable delivery system, new transport solutions are needed to reduce environmental impact. The GREEN DASH project gives Riga the opportunity to test an innovative electric cargo scooter that could become an alternative to traditional delivery vehicles, while improving urban mobility and quality of life.
Target of the Project
To develop and test a sustainable urban logistics solution using an electric cargo scooter. The project aims to improve delivery efficiency, reduce pollution caused by transport, and develop policy recommendations for the implementation of sustainable logistics in cities.
Benefits for Residents
✔ Reduced air and noise pollution, improving quality of life;
✔ A more efficient and faster urban delivery system;
✔ Testing of new, innovative transport solutions that can improve urban mobility in the future.
