Implementation of a virtual reality shooting training system to strengthen the capacity and skills of Riga Municipal Police
Status: Aktīvie projekti

The project implements a virtual reality (VR/XR) shooting training system pilot within Riga Municipal Police, aimed at improving professional skills through innovative digital technologies. The system enables safe, efficient, and data-driven training without the use of real ammunition.
The solution combines a VR shooting simulator (AceXR) and a motion analysis system (Mantis), providing realistic training scenarios, performance tracking, and personalised feedback.
The Significance of the Project for Riga
Maintaining police shooting skills is essential for public safety, while traditional training methods are costly and logistically demanding.
The introduction of VR technologies reduces training costs, increases training frequency, and ensures safe learning conditions. The project promotes innovation in public services and strengthens Riga’s position as a technologically advanced city.
Target of the Project
To implement and pilot an XR-based shooting training system that improves police performance, decision-making under stress, reduces training costs, and introduces a data-driven approach to professional development.
